Cliffhangers-23.png

Our partner Listenwise which helps students build listening and reading comprehension skills has created a lesson for elementary school classrooms around  Episode 8: A Girl Who Looks Like Me 8, which features an Arab-American girl Sulaf looking for an author who can represent a girl like her at the center of good old whodunnit mystery. Her author match is Susan Muaddi Darraj, author of Farah Rocks series.

The Listenwise lesson introduces the storytelling tool of cliffhangers to young writers. Also included are before reading discussion and vocabulary, during listening organizers, after listening discussion questions, and recommended paired texts. Download a FREE PDF version of Listenwise’s lesson by clicking the button below.
